Duties of the Deputy for Management Development and Support
The scope of duties of the Deputy for Management Development and Support is determined as follows:
- Coordination with the Director General and other deputies in achieving organizational policies and executive strategies.
- Planning and division of work among staff according to area of responsibility in line with their job descriptions and providing necessary guidance during performance of assigned duties.
- Applying necessary supervision and controls to ensure proper implementation of approved regulations, rules, circulars and directives.
- Presenting proposals to improve work methods in matters such as finance, secretariat, archiving, warehousing and transportation.
- Reviewing staffing needs of the department and preparing required plans to meet those needs within organizational policies, general strategies and approved credits and reporting to the central office.
- Continuous evaluation of staff performance and striving to establish a merit based system and introducing outstanding individuals in terms of activity level, commitment and expertise in each job rank to superiors.
- Determining training needs of staff in coordination with other deputies and performing other relevant matters within the scope of support duties as required.
- Participating in provincial planning meetings on behalf of the Director General as instructed.
- Participating in councils, committees and assemblies as necessary and appropriate.
- Receiving performance reports from supervised units to present to superiors.
- Issuing orders for payment of salaries, mission allowances, overtime and other benefits according to budget instructions within delegated authority.
- Continuous monitoring of the credit absorption process and necessary cooperation in budget reallocation with approval of superiors.
